D . Ashraf Shehhi head of Zagazig University announced the University contributed to the literacy of 23 thousand citizens of East and Dakahlia governorates, during the 2014/2015 academic year in the framework of the implementation of the student training for the students of the Faculty of Education and Department of Sociology Program, Faculty of Arts and the contribution of the university in the national project to eradicate the scourge of illiteracy threaten the development and construction process of the future of Egypt. Total who has the College of Education students erasing illiteracy 20 thousand citizens have been reached, and the total who are students of the Faculty of Arts to wipe out illiteracy 3000 citizen.
He explained d. Chihi that this achievement comes as a result of activation of cooperation between the university and the eastern province of the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education, which aims to eradicate illiteracy that threaten the achievement of the highest rates of problem of economic and social growth and human development protocol. He added that the increase in numbers and raise the performance target after the success of the experiment to include many other colleges such as educational faculties of Physical Education and the Faculty of Specific Education, as well as the Faculty of Commerce and rights.
